Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Bronze

The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program recognizes Judson & Brown Elementary for it's successful implementation of school-wide PBIS supports and programs.  By establishing positive behavior supports throughout the school, we are promoting and maximizing social, emotional, and behavior outcomes for ALL students.

California Gold Ribbon School

The California Department of Education (CDE) seeks to recognize outstanding educational programs and practices. The California Gold Ribbon Schools Award was created to honor public schools while the California Distinguished Schools Program is on hiatus as California continues its transition to new assessment and accountability systems. Since the program's inception, CDE has recognized 193 middle schools, 180 high schools, and 780 elementary schools as Gold Ribbon School Award recipients. We will honor middle and high schools in 2017 (California Department of Education, 2016)

National Blue Ribbon School

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. More than 7,500 of schools across the country have been presented with this coveted award. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning (US Department of Education, 2016).

Section 1117 (b) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Act of 2001 requires that all states receiving Title I funds establish a program that recognizes Title I schools that exceed Adequate Yearly Progress for two or more years or significantly close the achievement gap among numerically significant subgroups. In order to be considered for the honor, schools must meet a variety of eligibility criteria including designated federal and state accountability measures based on Adequate Yearly Progress and Academic Performance Index requirements (California Department of Education, 2016).

Educational Results Partnership (ERP) is all about shining light on the “bright spots” in education. That’s what we call schools that are outperforming their peers. They aren’t anomalies or accidents. They’re everywhere. Our work focuses on identifying schools and colleges that are getting the best results for students, connecting them with schools that want to improve, and fostering collaboration to improve outcomes for all students. We do it through data and analytics. We have accumulated the nation’s largest database on student achievement – at the state, college, school district, and school level. This data is publicly available at no cost. We analyze the data to uncover successful schools and identify replicable best practices that can increase performance at any school. We use it to debunk excuses about why students can’t learn and focus instead on how they can learn. Our work doesn’t focus on standardized testing or compliance checklists. It’s about finding out what works for students – and doing it.  It’s simple, really. If more schools apply proven best practices, more students will succeed. This will result in more college-ready high school graduates and, eventually, more career-ready college graduates. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization with no political affiliation or agenda – just an abiding conviction that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed in school and in life (Educational Results Partnership, 2016)
